Memorial Stone

The Danish associations in London joined forces in 2021 to raise a memorial stone in the church garden for Danes who have fallen in service of Denmark.

The working group consisted of representatives of the Danish Royal Guards in Great Britain, Anglo-Danish Society, Danish-UK Association and The Danish Church in London.

The stone was inaugurated on 7 May 2023 and now stands beautifully in the garden at the Danish Church in London.

The funds collected were enough to cover both the stone, the planting around it and expenses in connection with the inauguration and reception.

The profit from the collection is donated to Nature Retreat in Denmark, which is an aid project for returning veterans.

The intention is that every year around May 5 there should be a commemoration of those who have lost their lives in service of Denmark - and in memory of the liberation in 1945.
